About the program
This program brings together cutting-edge technologies from the field of analytics, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI), to draw appropriate business decisions by meaningful analysis of business data. The primary focus of the program is to introduce various concepts of analytics, ML, and AI, and demonstrate their applications in solving real-world business problems through advanced software. The coverage, from the domain of analytics, ML, and AI, is a judicious mix of practical, relevant, and versatile topics for business intelligence.
The results of analyzing complex business data, augmented with domain knowledge, can be used for insightful managerial decision-making in diverse areas of business including, but not limited to, finance, marketing, operations, and human resources. The applications in these domains, which will be covered in this program, include diverse managerial problems, such as predicting default in loan repayment, customer retention and relationship management, prediction of employee attrition, etc. This program takes the participants to the plane of business intelligence directly, with hands-on work and practical applications of the state-of-the-art models and methods.
Objectives:
The program will help participants understand and interpret the outputs of a diverse set of analytics, ML, and AI models, and develop practical managerial insights based on them. They will be able to contribute data-driven insights to their respective working teams and organizations in the immediate future. In the long run, such practice of developing data-driven managerial insights will lead them to adopt useful managerial steps, ultimately supporting their overall career growth. Program duration:
This open program is designed for 5 days as a residential experience at IIM Udaipur. Participants must travel to Udaipur to attend the program in person. Being a residential program, we will provide single accommodation for participants in a nearby hotel.

- Practical methods of handling class imbalance;
- Assessment of model performance and model diagnostics;
- Comparing the performance of different classifiers in managerial applications;
- Classification trees and ensemble learning techniques;
- Unsupervised learning in business intelligence – market segmentation or clustering;
- Unsupervised learning in business intelligence – market basket analysis, recommender systems;
- Randomized experiments for identification of effective strategies – A/B testing, multivariable testing, persuasion analytics;
- Artificial neural network and deep learning;
- Text mining and social media analytics – data cleaning, large language models, topic modeling, sentiment analysis;

Participants’ profile
- Professionals in 5–10 years’ experience bracket who are interested in upskilling themselves with analytics, ML, and AI technologies and their applications in various domains of business such as operations, marketing, finance, etc.
- Professionals with 10–15 years of experience seeking transition to managerial roles, with the aim of managing data science teams that work on the application of analytics, ML, and AI technologies in various spheres of business.
Venue and Accommodation
The program will take place at the Indian Institute of Management Udaipur. Participants will receive full board and air-conditioned single-room accommodation at a nearby hotel, on a single occupancy basis.

Program Fee
Rs. 1,25,000/- (+ Applicable GST) per person for participants from India and its equivalent in US dollars for participants from other countries
Early Bird Discount
Nominations received with payments on or before September 29, 2025 (Monday) will be entitled to an early bird discount of 7%. Rs. 1,16,250/- (+ applicable GST).
Group Discount
Group discounts can be availed for a group of 3 or more participants when nominations are received from the same organization.
Note:
- All enrolments are subject to review and approval by the program director. Kindly do not make your travel plans unless you receive the letter from IIMU.
- The program fee should be received by the Executive Education Office before the program commencement date. In case of cancellations, the fee will be refunded only if a request is received at least 15 days prior to the start of the program.

PROGRAM DIRECTORS

Debanjan Mitra
Program Director
Dr. Debanjan Mitra earned his Ph.D. in statistics from McMaster University, Canada, in 2012. He is currently an Associate Professor at IIM Udaipur. Earlier, he held a faculty position at IIT Guwahati. He has a long experience of teaching a wide array of analytics courses such as predictive analytics, advanced analytics, business statistics, data mining, data visualization in the full-time MBA programs of IIM Udaipur. He has also taught various analytics courses in the short-term executive programs offered by the institute for various companies. Dr. Mitra is an active researcher; his research papers have appeared consistently in highly reputed international journals. In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Mitra served as a member of the Board of Governors, and as a member of the Advisory Board for the Centre for Digital Enterprise Management at IIM Udaipur.

Ujjwal Das
Program Director
Dr. Ujjwal Das currently is an associate professor in OM, QM & IS area. He obtained his PhD in mathematical sciences from Northern Illinois University in 2011. He served as a postdoctoral research fellow at the department of Biostatistics in University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He also worked as a senior research Statistician at Abbott Labs in North Chicago. Thereafter he joined IIM Udaipur as an assistant professor and started teaching courses on business statistics, advanced analytics in 2-year MBA, 1-year MBA programs along with short term executive programs offered from the institute. In addition to teaching Prof. Das is also an active academic researcher in applied statistics. He has published papers in international journals which show his ability of independent research in applied statistics.
